mission Statement
This website was created for the Design Your Own Learning Project in Mr. Block's 12th grade english class. The essential question this project attempts to answer is, "How do individuals, specifically SLA students, relate to place? How does the state of their environment affect them and what makes them create such an environment?"
These questions can only be answered by SLA students themselves and, even then, the answers may vary. With a combination of anonymous testimonials as well as photos, the SLA physical environment is exposed. This is not to say that SLA is not a wonderful place where many come to be themselves and learn to their fullest potential. I truly do love SLA and everything it has done for me. However, this project was created to draw attention to the abuse the SLA environment is withstanding from those who call it home. The purpose is to make a change and have people respect the place they've adopted as their second home.
